Kevin's Book Review Page
Welcome to my review page! I am
Kevin and I will read a book and place a review about every month.
Here is the rating scale:
*= it sucked
**= it was bad
***= it was O.K.
****= it was good
*****= it don't get much better than that
This month's book is: Toxin
By Robin Cook
Toxin was slightly incomplete. Dr. Kim Reggis, a cardiac surgeon, picks
up his daughter from her mothers. She cons her father into going to a popular
fast-food restraunt. She orders a burger and it comes back rare, so she
eats it anyway. The next day she experiences symptoms of sickness. She
is later hospitalized and diagnosed with E. Coli. The poor girl later dies
in her father's arms. In his fury and anger he hunts down the meat that
sickened his daughter from the restraunt to the slughterhouse. Undercover,
he gets a job for the slaughterhouse. He discovers the disgusting and repulsive
prosesses in which beef is made. He gets evidence that will shut down that
slaughterhouse. Yet, all is not over. In another house another family's
child becomes infected with this disease. Then the book ended.
As my frequent viewers know I never tell the ending of the book, but
in this case there was a very incomplete end. It's oblivious that the second
girl dies, but there really isn't a story to that. A sad ending. This is
the only book by Robin Cook that I think is bad. I please ask anyone who
has read the book or is going to to read it to e-mail me. I would really
like some comments on this book.
