Take me back to simpler times
When life will so carefree
Happiness was always there
With joy I felt daily

Running in a cool bright stream
When cares were far away
Appreciating all this joy
I wandered every day

Never lost this child in me
She always will be there
Grateful for the memories
Each treasured moment near

Seems like it was yesterday
I sat and wondered why
It takes so long to come to age
Now life glides swiftly by

Still I sit and reminisce
Of treasures in my past
Journey on with every step
These paths of life will last

Grateful for these moments now
This love and peace I share
Knowing that my spirit lives
My heart is child aware.
