Unresolved Pain

Unresolved pain,
The killer within.
Those heartaches and fears,
That kept my emotions in.

My tears were locked up,
Somewhere down inside,
Not coming out
When I should have cried.

"No, don't let them out,
Don't let them go free!"
A little voice
Kept on telling me.

Yes, someone will hurt,
And that someone is me,
But I must face the pain,
So that I can be free.

Haven't I had enough,
Pain in my life?
Can't I be free,
Of heartache and strife?

Can't I let go,
Of what's eating within?
So those emotions will flow,
And my new life can begin.

Oh, my Lord God.
Please help me to see,
All of those things,
That are hidden in me.

That by your grace,
And your loving hand,
My life will be healed
And this pain will be banned.
