Forrest (Woody) Jensen, born 1907.

Elden Auker, born in 1910, is one of four living Detroit Tigers who played in the 1934 World Series.

I found some more.

I wrote a while ago about old ballplayers who are still living (click here to see the original story).  There are a few more prominent over-90 players, however, that I didn't list because I ran out of room for all of them.  So, here are a few more, with ages listed as of April 24, 2001:

Woody Jensen, 93 years old. Jensen played with the Waner brothers in the Pittsburgh outfield in the 1930s.  His 696 at-bats in 1936 stood as a major league record for decades.  Update - Jensen died on October 5, 2001.

Ray Berres, 93. He was a backup catcher for the Dodgers, Pirates, and Giants, batting .216 from 1934 to 1945.

Mace Brown, 91. One of the first great relief pitchers, Brown gave up Gabby Hartnett's famous pennant-clinching homer in September 1938.  His Pirate teammates Woody Jensen and Gus Suhr are still living.  Update - Brown died on March 24, 2002.

Bill Werber, 92. He played from 1930 to 1942, and led the American League in stolen bases three times.  He recently co-authored a book of reminiscences about his career, available now on amazon.com.

Elden Auker, 90. A submarine pitcher, Auker won 130 games and lost 101 from 1930 to 1942, and went 1-1 for Detroit in the 1934 World Series.

Ernie Koy, 91. Koy batted .299 for Brooklyn in his rookie year of 1938, when he was a teammate of Tot Pressnell (click here for the Tot Pressnell story).  Koy hit .271 lifetime in his 5-year career.

Joe Cascarella, 93.  His lifetime record was only 27-48, but he led the American League with seven relief wins in 1934.  Update - Cascarella died on May 22, 2002.

P.S.  There is one more player that I'd like to mention.

George William Scott was a righthanded pitcher who was born on November 17, 1896 and pitched in two games for the Cardinals in 1920.  No one seems to know what happened to Scott after that, and we don't really have any idea when or where he died.

It's possible, though highly unlikely, that Scott is still living, since he would be 104 years old if he were still around.  Therefore, if any of you genealogy buffs out there know anything about a George William Scott who was born in Trenton, Missouri 104 years ago, please let me know.
