![]() Anthony T. Allion, Bloomdale, is seeking election for a fifth term as Wood County Engineer in the November general election. As county engineer he is responsible for a 250-mile road system and over 450 bridges. The safe travel of the public is major goal of the county engineer. As part of that goal, Allion said he will continue to widen all county roads to 22 feet and replace bridges that are closed or have reduced load limits. Allion has lived in Wood County for 35 years and is a graduate of Elmwood High School and the Ohio State University with bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. He has completed additional education at Cornell University on bridge inspection and the University of Toledo in hydrology. He is a registered professional engineer and surveyor in Ohio and has worked in the county engineer's office for 25 years, the last 15 as county engineer. Allion is a member of the Wood County Republican Party and its executive and central committees, Wood County Township Association, Wood County Farm Bureau, Wood County OSU Alumni Association, Bloomdale Commercial Club and County Engineer's Association of Ohio, where he is a past director and member of the Ways and Means committee. He is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bloomdale where he is a teacher and choir member. Allion and his wife, Lois, have three children and two grand children. |
