![]() Tim W. Brown is seeking election as the Wood County commissioner. Last July, he came within five votes of the Wood County Republican Central Committee of being appointed to fill a vacancy on the board of commissioners. Brown presently serves as the Wood County representative of U.S. Rep. Paul Gillmor. He also manages the Wood County Congressional office. Brown has assisted hundreds of Wood County's citizens and businesses in their dealings with all levels of government agencies. He also served as a volunteer legislative assistant to State Rep. Randy Gardner. ''It has been my pleasure to work with Wood County's township trustees, mayors and village council members. By working as a team with public officials we have been able to better serve the citizens of Wood County," Brown added. Following graduation from Bowling Green State University's College of Business in 1986, Brown served as the business manager for the Wood County sanitary engineering office. There he coordinated a department with an annual budget of $10 million. Brown managed and worked with a team of 30 employees. Daily, he worked with issues pertaining to water and sewer development while overseeing operations at the Wood County landfill. During Brown's tenure, the engineer's records and operations were updated and computerized. "I am certainly no stranger to the issues facing Wood County in the courthouse,'' Brown said. He has assisted the Farm Bureau with various agricultural issues pertinent to Wood County's farmers. He has worked with county agencies and community organizations to promote economic development and job growth.Brown was first appointed to the Wood County Board of Elections in 1991, and was reappointed in 1995. He is a member of the Ohio Association of Election Officials and chairman of the Wood County Republican Central Committee. Brown has served on the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Government Air Quality Task Force, is a member of the Wood County Farm Bureau, as well as the Wood County Historical Society, the Perrysburg Chamber of Commerce and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce. In 1988, Brown was honored as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America. A native of Omaha, Neb., he graduated from Miamisburg High School, before moving to Bowling Green to attend college and has been a resident of Wood County since. Brown works in Perrsyburg and is a resident of Bowling Green. |
