Candidate Sue Kinder
Seeking Re-election as Wood County Recorder

Sue Kinder is seeking re-election as Wood County recorder. She stated that the Wood County Recorder's Office is a service office, charged with the responsibility of maintaining all documents pertaining to any and all Wood County real estate. "With the dynamic growth that Wood County continues to experience, it is imperative to maintain up-to-date records, accurate records. At the same time, we must assure the courteous and prompt availability of these records to the public. I have initiated a computerized system, as well as the related technology, to enhance record keeping that continues to serve the public in an efficient, accurate manner,'' Mrs. Kinder stated.

As administrator and secretary of the county's microfilm board, she is responsible for micro filming, indexing and storing thousands of records for the probate court, juvenile center, human services, common pleas court, clerk of courts, Wood County Health Department, commissioners' office and the board of elections. Mrs. Kinder is past president of the State of Ohio Recorders Association, a bipartisan group of 88 county recorders, and co-chairperson of the Ohio Recorders Association legislative committee for the last five years.

As a member of the legislative committee for he past 10 years, she has had the opportunity to study and edit numerous legislative bills which would affect the county recorder offices. She also had the opportunity to participate in the legislative process, by meeting with many of the sponsors and/or testifying before legislative committee hearings.

She is a member of the Wood County Democratic Party and its executive committee, Perrysburg Democratic Club, Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, Wood County Farm Bureau, Wood County Trustees Association, Wood County Historical Society, Wood County Genealogical Society, Bobcat Boosters and the Falcon Club. A member of St. Aloysius Church, she is currently serving on the Parish Finance Council. A life-long resident of Wood County, Mrs. Kinder is a graduate of Portage Township Schools. She attended the University of Wisconsin and has done coursework at Bowling Green State University. Mrs. Kinder and her husband Herb, reside in Bowling Green. They have three children and five grandchildren.
