About Icelandic Sheep

Welcome to Little Cabin Farm, home to our flock of registered purebred Icelandic Sheep.  We are a small farm located in Northwest Ohio nestled among the many large grain farms in our area.

When researching livestock for our farm, Icelandic Sheep immediately caught our eye.  They are beautiful to behold and these are no fancy, need to be coddled sheep.  Because they are a primitive breed, virtually unchanged in over one thousand years, they are very easy keepers.  A true triple purpose sheep, they can be used for their fleece, meat and milking.  With 17 different color and pattern combinations and wool that can grow more than 16 inches each year, they are stunning to look at.  If you are interested in learning more about Icelandic Sheep please click the icon to the left "About Icelandic Sheep".

We are a small farm so our sheep receive individual attention.  Spending time with them is a joy.  We take care to feed them in hay bale feeders so that our fleeces have less vegetation in them.  This makes the fleeces easier and faster to clean and gives a much cleaner roving as well.

We belong to ISBONA (Icelandic Sheep Breeders of North America) and CLRC (Canadian Livestock Records Corporation).  We are also enrolled in the Voluntary Scrapie Program.

Please feel free to browse our website.  If you have any other questions or just want to talk sheep, contact us by email or phone.
