The North Baltimore Local School District is situated in southern Wood County and is a member of the Wood County Schools. There is one public elementary school, Powell Elementary, for students in grades Kindergarten through 6, and the North Baltimore Middle & High School, for students in grades 7-12. Some students attend Penta County Vocation School.

The North Baltimore school staff is made up of 61 certified members and 26 support staff. The average years of teaching experience is 12.6 with a pupil teacher ratio of 19-1 and an average graduating class of 65.

North Baltimore schools offer students eight varsity sports. Many clubs and activities that the young people of North Baltimore can participate in include: National Honor Society, Student Council, Drama, Art Club, Year-book Staff, Spanish Club, Alpha Mu Theta Math Honorary Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

North Baltimore has a lighted football stadium which seats 1,200.

The North Baltimore District also offers Community Education courses in the evenings such as: Word Processing and Aerobics and many other clubs and activities.

North Baltimore has an outstanding public library that is one of the cultural and recreational centers of the community today. The library is located on North Main Street and occupies over 13,000 square feet of space. Our library circulates over 110,000 items per year including books, videos, records, tapes, framed art, and magazines. The book collection consists of over 50,000 titles. Story hours for children, after school moves, exercise program, and a summer reading program are regular features of the library's free year-round activities.
