Is Christ Your Savior?

Rceiving Christ Jesus as your personal Savior is the most important act you or anyone else will ever do … It will effect you for all of time.

If you have never made this decision, please consider the following verses from the Bible:

Who needs a savior?

You…me…everyone!

Why? Because we all are sinners.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:23

You may say, "I don't sin because I don't lie, steal, murder, etc." Read on…

What is sin?

The "World Book Dictionary" ©1967 defines sin as follows:

  • A breaking of the law of God deliberately:     human sin.
  • The state or condition resulting from this:     born and raised in sin.
  • An immoral act; wrongdoing: lying, stealing, dishonesty, and cruelty are all sins.
  • A violation of any rule or standard, as of taste, propriety, etc.

The Bible tells us

  1. It is not just our actions, but it is an inherited condition.
We are born with a sin nature.
  2. "Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin;
and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"
    Romans 5:12
  3. The details of how the original sin came upon all of us
are found in Genesis, Chapter 3, of the Bible’s Old Testament. (The first book of the Bible.)

What is God’s price for sin?

Sin separates us from God.

Romans 6:23 tells us -- "For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Sin places a great, wide    c…h…a…s…m     between us and God that we alone cannot cross.

What is God’s solution for sin?

God provided a way for us …His own Son, also known as:

  • Messiah
  • Savior
  • The Lord
  • Jesus Christ

Romans 5:8 tells us "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

It is only by the outstretched arms of the Lord, Jesus Christ, that we can cross that chasm separating us from God.

Acts 16:31 states, " … Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved …."

1 John 1:9 tell us, "If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

How should I respond to this gift?

Turn to Christ … Believe and confess Him as your Savior.

Romans 10:13 tells us … "That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord,
and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,
you shall be saved."

Turn in sorrow from your sins:
"Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that He may have mercy on Him,
and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon." Isaiah 55:7

Pray to God. Confess your sin to Him.

Tell Him of your desire to turn from your sins
and receive Christ as your Lord and Savior.

"For whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

How does this new life continue?

The same way it began -- in faith and prayer.

    1. Pray … Prayer is talking to God.
Prayer includes praises, thanksgiving, petitions for the salvation of others, confession of sin, and requests for help.
    2. Read your Bible … Study it every day.
It is the food for your new life and your sure guide.
In it’s pages you will learn of Jesus and of His many promises for your life.
    3. Worship with others … Meet with a church where the Bible is taught and obeyed and where Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.
    4. Witness to others … Tell your friends about your Savior, Jesus Christ. Let the light of your changed life shine in the darkness of the world around you.
