The Toledo Kennel Club is a not-for-profit organization of dog owners, breeders, performance enthusiasts and show exhibitors dedicated to the welfare and advancement of purebred dogs. It is chartered in the State of Ohio as a nonprofit corporation and operates under the Rules and Regulations of the American Kennel Club. It is a member of the American Kennel Club and participates in the governance of that body through an elected delegate.

The Toledo Kennel Club is a public service and educational resource for the community. It is committed to the promotion of responsible dog breeding and ownership, conducts training classes for dogs and owners, sponsors seminars, health clinics and other events, and holds Dog Shows and Matches under AKC rules.

r obtain one the first night of the class.

Usually classes do not fill in advance, but if a class has filled, it will be labeled as "filled" on this web page.

Beginners Obedience class: 6 weeks, $65 for each dog..
  Next class starts:  Tuesday, October 21, 2008,  6:30 - 7:30 P.M.
The class covers the elements of dog obedience and training methods, and provides the basis for more advanced obedience.

Novice Obedience class: 6 weeks, $65 for each dog.
  Next class (tentative) starts: Monday, October 20, 2008,  6:30 - 7:30 P.M.
The class is a continuation of the skills taught in the beginner's class. Emphasis will be on improving performance of the exercises as well as introduction to off-lead work. This class is for the novice handler and/or novice dog. The class must have at least 3 but not more than 10 participants.

Agility classes: 6 weeks, $65 for each dog.  
   Next class starts:  Wednesday, October 22, 2008
  6:00 - 7:00 P.M..- Beginners and Internediate Agility
  7:15 to 8:30 P.M - Advanced Agility

Rally classes: 6 weeks, $65 for each dog.
  Next class starts:  Monday, October 20, 2008, 7:30 - 8:30 P.M.
Familiarization with Rally stations, courses and handling techniques. All levels

Conformation classes - Show training for dogs and handlers  ($5 per handler each night). Classes are conducted in the same manner as a dog show, with all of the ring procedures normally used in shows including gaiting patterns and individual dog examination.
  Thursday, 7:30 - 8:45 P.M.
  No class on 4th Thursday of each month and Dec. 4 because of TKC meetings.
  Building closed for cleaning on Nov. 20, Feb. 5 because of weekend events.

Obedience Practice
Obedience Practice (no instructor): $5.00 each session. No practice on holidays or other special events; email to confirm. Not regularly scheduled during June, July & August.
   Tuesday, 7:30 - 9:00 P.M.
   Wednesday, 10:00 - 12 Noon - for info: call Lynn Lippincott (419-536-9284).
   Sunday each week, 10:00 A.M - 12 Noon (except when the building is in use for an Obediance Trial or other event).
