CONFORMATION
CLASSES: $5 per handler each night
Every Thursday except Fourth Thursday, September
through November, January through May, 7:30 - 8:45 P.M.;
some dates are canceled because of othere events; exact dates are listed
on the Home page.
No
enrollment; just walk in. Classes are conducted in the same manner as
dog shows. Puppies over 3 mo. are welcome. Both experienced and beginning
handlers attend these classes for the purpose of training their dogs
for showing. Those without previous experience should inform the instructors
in advance so that they can receive special individual assistance and
training.

OBEDIENCE
CLASSES: SIX WEEKS, $65
Dogs must be at least 14 weeks of age. classes limited to 12 dogs.
Beginners

RALLY
OBEDIENCE CLASSES: Prerequisite: a Beginners Obedience class
Monday, 7:30 - 8:30 P.M.: All levels:
Rally
Obedience is done on an Agility-type course but consists of a sequence
of traditional Obedience-like exercises, each identified by a sign.
The Rally course resembles Agility in that the course is different in
each Trial and handlers may talk to, signal, and encourage their dogs.
The Rally course includes elements of Obedience such as heeling, changes
of pace, recalls, and turns. The elements are combined into a flowing
course to make the event fun for both dog and trainer. Rally Obedience
became an AKC-Titled class on January 1, 2005, leading to Rally Novice,
Rally Advanced and Rally Excellent titles.

PUPPY
CLASSES: THREE WEEKS, $30
Thursday,
6:30 - 7:15 P.M.
Puppy
socialization, including exposure to other handlers and puppies, and
an introduction to training for obedience and other dog activities.
The puppy class is also a preparation for the regular Beginners Obedience
and other classes for older dogs.

General Information
REFUNDS:
No refunds will be granted without the agreement of the Obedience Training
Director and/or the TKC Board of Directors. All requests for refunds
must be made in writing before the beginning of the second week of classes.
Fees may be refunded before the second class meeting if the handler
withdraws from the class or if the dog's behavior is such that it represents
a threat to other dogs or people. No refunds will be given after the
second week of classes is completed. In case of an injury or serious
illness, the Director may agree to let a student register for the next
session of classes.
All classes must be paid for in full by the time of registration. No
confirmation of enrollment will be mailed. However, if a class is cancelled,
or if a class fills, individuals who have registered in advance will
be notified and their money returned.
HEALTH
RECORDS: All handlers must bring an up-to-date health records before
they will be admitted to class. This is for your dog's protection as
well as others enrolled in classes. The health certificate should list
date of fecal check (within last two months), shots for parvo, distemper,
leptospirosis, hepatitis and rabies. No dog will be admitted without
the certificate.
CLASS
SIZE: As class sizes are limited to a maximum of 17 dogs, handlers
are advised to include payment in full when sending in the registration.
However, enrollments will be accepted at the start of the first class,
as space often is available. Check-In for health certificates and equipment
will be 20 minutes prior to the first class.

All classes are held at the Toledo Kennel Club building at the address
above.
DIRECTIONS: Airport Highway (State Rt. 2) to McCord Rd. (west
of Spring Meadows), north on McCord Rd. to Kipling St., left (west)
on Kipling 1 block to Clarion Ave., left (south) on Clarion ½
block to the TKC building.

Weather:
A Class will be canceled if there is a level 2 snow emergency, or there
is freezing rain, heavy snow or other severe winter weather which would
make driving hazardous. Cancellations will be announced on the home
page of the web site, and by the telephone message, 419-865-8736.
