Columbus, Ohio --- Tim
Brown, Wood County Commissioner, was named Chairman of
the County Commissioners General Government/Legislative
Committee by the leadership of the Commissioners
Association of Ohio. Commissioner Brown’s committee will
handle numerous legislative issues ranging from general
government issues, unfunded mandates, elections,
property & buildings, dogs & animal control, public
records, sunshine law, personnel & civil service,
collective bargaining, employee benefits, unemployment
compensation, workers compensation, health insurance,
prevailing wages, solid waste and recycling, air quality
and environmental issues. “I am overwhelmed by the
confidence my colleagues have placed in me to lead this
important committee. It provides me an additional
opportunity to further represent the interests of Wood
County in our State’s capitol. I am looking forward to
the enormous challenge and the opportunity to utilize
this committee to benefit our citizens.” Commissioner
Brown said
Commissioner Brown was also
elected by his colleagues in Northwest Ohio to serve as
President of the Northwest Ohio Commissioners and
Engineers Association. The election and swearing-in
ceremony took place in Columbus at the Commissioners
annual Winter Conference in December 2007. “I am
honored by the support of my colleagues and I look
forward to working with them to better represent the
citizens of Wood County and Northwest Ohio. We have a
lot of work to do to turn around Ohio’s economy, and
Commissioners are on the front lines of that effort. I’m
looking forward to the challenges and the opportunities
we will have to improve Northwest Ohio by working
together”. Commissioner Brown said.
