May Mission Project
“Nothing But Nets!”
Malaria is a leading killer of children in Africa. It can be
prevented through the use of insecticide-treated bed nets, which create
a protective barrier against mosquitos at night, when most transmission
occurs. Just one bed net can keep an entire family safe from malaria
transmission for up to four years! Each $10 donation pays for the
purchase/distribution and educates each family on how to properly use
the net.
Every 30 seconds,
a child dies in
Sub-Saharan Africa
because of malaria!
You can do
something about it!
“Nothing But Nets” is
about small gifts that make a big difference!
Throughout the month of May we will be collecting for this fund!

Pennies From Heaven
A
Missions Update
Our congregation has been giving pennies from
heaven this year! Continue reading to see how our spare change has
helped many people so far this year!
The Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission is a shelter that provides chapel
services, daily meals, as well as basic human necessities such as
clothing, a shower, and a clean place to sleep to the homeless and needy
in the Toledo area. The TGRM received a $128.72 donation from our
January Noisy Offering.
The Wood County Jail Chaplaincy is a volunteer organization who brings
Sunday services and weekday bible studies to all the juvenile and adult
corrections facilities. The Chaplaincy gives bibles to all the inmates
that attend these activities. Our spare change for the month of
February added up to $108.23 toward those bibles.
In March, we collected $152.69 for the Cocoon Shelter, a domestic
violence women’s shelter located in Bowling Green.
In addition to the Noisy Offering, we collected money in February to
give to the Church World Service Tools and Blankets Program. We
collected $555.00 which will provide 111 blankets for people around the
world and in this country who are in need.
The Jackson Area Ministries Green Thumb Garden Project, located in
Jackson, Ohio, provides seeds and plants to the unemployed, senior
citizens, larger families, low income and fixed income families so they
can grow their own produce. Last year, the ministry was able to help
2,810 families in 18 counties in Ohio! In March, our congregation
generously donated 187 packs of vegetable seeds to help with the Green
Thumb Garden Project.
There is a saying that “many hands make light work”. This obviously
applies to giving as well . . . individually our pennies do not amount
to much, but together our spare change can have a profound impact on
many people who need our help.
Thank you for all of your continued support of these wonderful mission
projects! †
